Secret Session
A psychedelic art rock jam band – a vocal-instrumental subobject. They aim to combine a strong song with interesting composition while surprising themselves. Currently, as a trio, they are testing channel counts on the mixing desk and the listeners’ openness. Uncommon instruments like glockenspiel, Moog Taurus clones, and Mellotron are part of the setup, along with unique analog projections created live from colors, oils, and other magical elixirs.
Maringotka
Maringotka is one of the first gypsy jazz bands in Slovakia. Following the “jazz manouche” style of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, it has been led by guitarists Róbert Schranz and Juraj Havlík since late 2009. Maringotka has performed dozens of concerts, primarily in Slovakia but also in neighboring countries, Brazil, and the USA. In 2013, they won the Young Talents competition at BJD, and in 2014, they opened the 40th Bratislava Jazz Days on the main stage. The concert will feature mainly songs from their upcoming new album, with Rob and Ďuro joined by violinist Pali Matej and special guest Robert Ragan on double bass.
tichá voda
A band from Zaježová, Novolaznícka, labels their style with a touch of irony as “lazpop,” or “laznícky pop” (one might also consider the term “balladic laznícky pop”). All band members, except for the singer Zuzana, are artisans by trade, and they play only their original songs. The term “tichá voda” is not just the band’s name but is viewed as two words chosen from a broader context, hence the lowercase at the beginning.
